Perspectives

Intuition is logic you can't see

This perspective is the one that lets me follow my heart and trust my intuition. But I should explain what I mean by intuition, because I don't think it's just a feeling.

Here's how I see intuition: it's a decision your brain makes automatically, based on all the data you've collected across your entire life. You didn't run the analysis consciously - it ran itself, on years of experience. That means intuition isn't illogical at all. It's completely logical; you just can't see the computation. And because you can't see it, it's easy to confuse it with a mere heart feeling.

That distinction is the important part. A heart feeling is hope wearing a disguise - it comes from what you wish were true. Intuition comes from what you've actually lived. Any decision worth making should be based on real data, not wishful thinking, and intuition passes that test, because your accumulated experience is the most real data you own.

Understanding this is what gives me the courage to trust my intuition without hesitation. Honestly, I've come to believe it often beats the decisions I grind out logically - the slow, conscious analysis works with a spreadsheet's worth of data, while intuition works with a lifetime's worth.

So when you face a choice and something in you says this is right - first make sure it's intuition speaking and not wishful thinking. Then don't be afraid. Go for it. Those are the decisions that end up making the greatest impact.
